Back on the road again

Between Missoula MT and Seattle WA I lost almost a week because of the holiday weekend finally get back on the road Thu. After but in a new head gasket I tested drive the scoot up into MT Rainer NP. So far it ran very good Knock on wood. With all the day lost and trouble I decided to cut short my Canada and Alaska destination by going south instead of heading north. I'm just afraid of no support up there may be another time.

Hey John,

My tour to St. Louis ended when my P250 blew its engine, oil and coolant spilling out everywhere, after losing two full days waiting for a new drive belt - which broke at the end of the first day, having it replaced by a local mechanic in Liberal, KS, and taking off early wednesday morning. Got about 40 miles when the engine blew. I ended up giving the bike away to a nice young man who towed me to Wichita.

I'll be looking for a bigger, more highway worthy scoot after this. No more 250's for the kind of riding I want to do. I'm glad you decided to turn back. I now doubt that the P250 would make it all the way, unless you never rode faster than maybe 55.
